Pam Presents Elder Issues At Keene State College

Attorney Pam Little was invited by Professor Nancy Judd to present to students at Keene State College in the “Intro to Geriatrics” course in March of this year. She presented Elder Law Issues, including estate planning, durable powers of attorney for health care and financial, long term care planning, and the guardianship process.

The class discussed elder care, elder abuse, the reporting requirements and laws that protect elders, resources and signs of elder abuse. We reviewed statistics, scams, reverse mortgages, examples of elder abuse and exploitation, and an age discrimination case. The students recently completed internships at local nursing homes and related agencies and they asked pointed and important questions related to elder care and how the law can help protect this vulnerable population.
